Brown relies on her faith through senior year

Aidan Duke
Writer
Senior Cierra Brown, like
most students, has had to
overcome the many challenges that high school
brings everyday.
For many people, challenges can disrupt their
lives, but Brown has overcome these many adversities by staying positive
and trusting God.
“God gets me out of
bed in the mornings because I want to succeed
in his eyes,” said Brown.
“Throughout it all, God has
been my motivation in life
because no matter what,
God is my constant that
has never wavered.”
Brown has done a great
job at trusting God and
finding the bright side of
every situation while also
being a supportive friend.
One person who has benefited and grown from
Brown’s kindness is senior
Skylar Ramsey.
“I have been best friends
with Cierra my whole lifeand have been supported
by her because she has
taught me to believe in
myslef and not let outside
opinions dictate me,” expressed Ramsey.
While Brown has had a
major impact on her fellow
classmates, she has also
helped and inspired her
teachers.
One teacher and coach
who has seen Brown grow
as a bright young woman
is Julie McCauley.
“Over the years, I have
built a unique relationship
with Cierra being inspired
by her ability to persevere
and emerge stronger,”
stated McCauley.
Continuing to adapt to
change after high school,
Brown plans on attending
the University of Science
and Arts of Oklahoma
where she will minor in
Speech Language Pathology and earn her bachelor’s degree.
After USAO, she will move
on to attend Northeastern
State University where
she will major in Speech
Language Pathology and
obtain her master’s degree.
