Wollenberg leads through senior year

As the year begins, senior An-
drew Wollenberg continues his

participation in the Marlow High
School Student Council.
Student council has prepared
Wollenberg in a variety of ways
for his future aspirations.
“Freshman year I joined
StuCo, and I knew it looked
good for college applications,”
Wollenberg stated. “As years
progressed, I went to various
leadership events that made me

realize what being a leader actu-
ally meant.”

However, Student Council is
not his only motivator, he credits
his parents for helping to prepare
him for a life he wants to lead.

“My mom and dad have moti-
vated me throughout my life and

have pushed me to be the best I
can be,” Wollenberg said.

While Wollenberg has ben-
efited from the leadership of oth-
ers, he is also a leader to many of

his fellow classmates, whether it
is inside or outside of school.

One student who has benefit-
ed first hand from Wollenberg’s

leadership skills and overall per-
sonality is high school senior

David Alvarez.
Alvarez attends Sante Fe
South High School in Oklahoma

City where he first met Wollen-
berg at Basic training for StuCo

two years ago.
“Andrew is a wonderful
leader, a helpful guy with a big
heart, and he has a great sense
of humor,” expressed Alvarez.

“Andrew has affected me by not

being shy and always being out-
going.”

MHS StuCo Advisor Ann
Field has also seen the impact
that Wollenberg makes on the
people around him.
“Drew is kind and helpful

to everyone. He is very person-
able and gets along with every-
one,” exclaimed Field. “Drew is

always willing to do whatever
needs to be done with a smile on
his face.”
Wollenberg has been a huge

part of the student council be-
cause he is a great role model

who has been encouraging stu-
dents to participate in school

activities since he joined the or-
ganization.

“Drew is just a joy to be
around, and I love having him on
our council,” said Field.

Wollenberg plans to attend ei-
ther The University of Oklahoma

or Oklahoma State University to
major in pre-med/biology.
