Senior Ashton Cox is powering through the school year and is getting ready for his future, which is getting closer as the fall semester will soon come to an end.

Cox plans to attend The University of Oklahoma, right after high school, in order to pursue his dream of being a Pharmacist.

“After high school I was wanting to go to OU and get my bachelors degree in pre pharmacy with a major in pharmacy and my minor in either chemistry or biology to jumpstart my pharmacy career,” stated Cox.

There are many people who believe in Cox and his career potential, especially senior Riley Miller who says he has got the right attitude for his career.

“I believe in Ashton and I’ve known him for three years; he is hardworking and overall a friendly person to be around,” said Miller.

After receiving his Bachelor degree, Cox plans to remain at OU and attend The College of Pharmacy school on the campus for his Doctorate.

Not only does Cox have a plan but he also has support from his art teacher Arlyn Brantley.

“He is always focused on his work and careful about the decisions that he makes whenever he is doing an assignment,” stated Brantley. “He uses his time very wisely and is always sure to follow all criterias of the assignment to get the perfect grade, whether the assignment being a test or a simple drawing.”

Cox has been trying hard and doing his best in school, doing everything from studying books to passing tests to reach his dream.

Not many people at his age have the basis of their future down, but Cox has his future set in his heart.

“In the future I would like to own my own pharmacy, but before then I would work at someone else’s pharmacy or in a hospital so I could get the experience and training I need beforehand,” said Cox.

Cox will continue to take the extra step needed to make his dreams come true.
