Marlow community supporting junior varsity players

On Monday the 19th Marlow High School sent out an announcement that all Junior Varsity games would be free for this year.

Many schools have decided to raise their ticket prices for the games, but Marlow chose not to do this because of the tough times families are facing because of the economics and also to benefit the community.

One of the many people who highly supported this change was Superintendent Corey Holland.

“I think this will be beneficial for our JV players in many good ways,” stated Holland “By hopefully getting to play in front of a larger crowd.”

There were two main goals that Marlow hoped to achieve by waving entry fees to the Junior Varsity games.

One goal was to provide financial relief to the families that go to the games already and the second goal was to support the students in the games.

One fan who attends every Junior Varsity game and supports the team is sophomore Mya Boyster.

Boyster comes to the games to support her younger brother and his teammates playing in the JV games.

“Some people have struggled with affording to go to the games,” expressed Boyster.

“So hopefully now people will pack the stands at the Junior Varsity games to support them even more.”

Not only will the players and fans benefit from this new announcement but so will the coaches.

One coach that supports every player on the Junior Varsity team is Coach Gage, the defensive coordinator for the football team.

“Junior Varsity helps younger players grow and helps prepare them for the varsity games,” stated Gage.“I think this will be a good opportunity for Marlow students and fans to help support the players.”

This announcement will help benefit many others and hopefully bring in more people to watch the games.

The Marlow community has done a wonderful job with supporting Marlow high school and will continue to do this in the future.
