Outlaws named Regional Champs

On Saturday, April 30 the Marlow High School track team traveled to Ardmore for the 3A Regionals Track Meet.

The track team left at 6:15 a.m. on Saturday to arrive in Ardmore before the track meet started at 9:30 a.m.

After a successful track season last year, the team worked extra hard this year in order to improve and achieve the title of Regional Champions.

Senior Luke Tolle has been in track since his freshman year and placed first in the boys 800-meter dash and first in the boys 4×800-meter relay at Regionals.

“I have been preparing for track regionals by giving my one hundred percent effort every practice,” Tolle explained.

With months spent practicing in preparation for the event, the teammates were more than prepared for the competition at the Regional track meet.

Senior Korie Kizarr has been in track since the seventh grade and broke the record for the Marlow High School girls 3200-meter dash with a time of 11:45.78.

“While preparing for Regionals I try to keep myself motivated by thinking of all the things I want to achieve and by trying to accomplish those,” Kizarr expressed.

Kizarr placed first in the girls 800-meter dash, first in the girls 1600-meter dash and first in the 3200-meter relay at Regionals.

Overall, the  Marlow High School boys and girls track team placed first at Regionals, showcasing their hard work and dedication as a team.

The Marlow High School track team will now advance to the 3A State Track Meet taking place on May 6-7 at Western Heights.
