DSC_0028Her radiant smile brightens the halls of MHS. Codi Young, this week’s Lions Club Student of the Week, has a bubbly personality that can both be found inside and outside of school as well as all the other activities she participates in.

“Codi always has a smile on her face, and she is always giggling. Her positive attitude is contagious,” senior and fellow cheerleader, Hannah Peters said.

Young shows her bright spirit on the field every Friday night as a Marlow Outlaw Bootlegger, as well as on the sidelines as a cheerleader.

Young is a 4 year member of the cheer squad, and a 3 year member of the bootleggers.

“Cheer and dance have been a huge part of my life ever since freshman year. I have so much fun, and I love being with both squads, inside and outside of practice,” Young said.

“Codi never quits. She is one of the most determined people I have ever met. I appreciate the effort that Codi gives out every single time,” bootlegger coach, Lisa Branum said.

Her bubbly personality also makes her an important asset in being treasurer of Marlow’s Student Council.

When she is not busy with one of the many activities she is involved in, she enjoys preparing some of her family’s favorite dishes with her mom.

She also enjoys movie nights with her family, and watching “The Walking Dead.”

“We love watching comedies because we are a family that loves to laugh. My family is the most important thing to me.”

Young plans to attend the University of Central Oklahoma to pursue a major in biology, hoping to obtain an occupation as a physician’s assistant.

Codi is the daughter of Mark and Sherri Young.
