Senior Maddy Elroy al-
ways puts her best effort for-
ward, whether on the teebox
or in high school.
When considering the
sport, Elroy believes golf has
contributed to many lessons
that she has learned through-
out her life.
“Golf has taught me to
have patience and to keep
going even if through hard
times,” said Elroy.
Elroy also has a very spe-
cial background as to how she
started to play golf.
“I chose this sport because
my sister golfed when I was
younger. I saw how close
she was with her team, and I
wanted to be a part of a sport
that had such a close bond,”
said Elroy.
One person who has been
involved with Elroy’s golf ex-
perience as a friend and team-
mate is Senior Gabby Hack.
Elroy and Hack have had
a huge impact on each others
golf games throughout their
time they spent playing to-
gether.
“Maddy keeps everyone
laughing at practice, which
reminds us that we can have
fun while putting in the
work,” said Hack.
Hack also feels that while
Elroy makes her laugh, she
also motivates her.
“Maddy has motivated me
by always encouraging me to
become better at all times,”
said Hack.
However, Lady Outlaw
Golf Coach Mikey Eaves has
also been affected by Elroy in
a positive way.
Eaves has seen many good
qualities in Elroy, but two of
them stood out the most.
“She has great qualities
as a leader and shows those
throughout the season in a lot
of ways,” said Eaves. “Maddy
loves to win and knows how
to make it happen.”
Elroy plans to go to Uni-
versity of Central Oklahoma
to work towards a career in
being a labor and delivery
nurse.
