As senior Gabby Hack hits
the golf ball, it soars calmly
through the sky, landing di-
rectly in the fairway.
Hack has been playing golf
for ten years now, practicing
to become better for both her
team and herself.
One person who has wit-
nessed Hack’s diligence is
Marlow Girls Golf coach
Mikey Eaves.
Eaves has been coach-
ing the girls golf team since
2010, getting the opportunity
to watch his players mature as
young women.
“Gabby is a great example
of how true hard work can
make someone successful.
Her work ethic and love for
the sport is the biggest rea-
son why she is so good at the
game,” Eaves said. “Gabby
has impacted me greatly,
making me want to better my-
self daily and work at every-
thing I do a little more.”
Hack has been a huge con-
tributor to her team, helping
to win State in 3A alongside
her fellow teammates last
year.
However, although Hack
has contributed greatly to the
game of golf, she feels that
the game of golf has equally
provided to her life skills that
go well beyond the greens.
“Golf has made me more
mature because it requires
emotional control. You have
to control your emotions
when you hit a bad shot, or
have a bad hole, because fall-
ing victim to your anger or
sadness will only cause more
trouble,” stated Hack.
While Hack is a great golf-
er, she is also a wonderful,
supportive friend to everyone
in her life.
One person that has known
Gabby nearly all her life and
has been friends with her
since the 8th grade is senior
Skylar Ramsey.
“Gabby is a strong-rooted
person who has good morals
and has helped me to be hap-
pier on an everyday basis,”
expressed Ramsey. “I would
say Gabby’s strongest trait is
her ability to be easygoing
while keeping you account-
able.”
With the encouragement of
her coaches and family, Hack
has done a great job at being
involved with the people and
activities she loves, helping
her to do great at everything
she does.
Hack will attend Murray
State where she will continue
playing golf and furthering
her education.
