FFA students start the school year strong

Marlow’s Future Farmers of
America (FFA) program started

the school year off strong, be-
ginning with the AgHERculture

conference and then the Back to
School Bash.

The event took place on Sat-
urday Aug. 26, 2023, from 9:30

a.m.- 4:00 p.m. at the Oklahoma
State Capitol.
Participants were able to eat
a good breakfast, get a headshot

photo and gain access to a net-
work full of contacts within the

agriculture industry.
One of these students that
went to this event is junior Maci
Miller.
“It was really encouraging
seeing all of the young women
come together for agriculture,”
Miller expressed. “It is great to
know that there are other women

that participate in the same in-
dustry that you do.”

Miller’s attendance to the
event motivated her even further
to set many goals for herself this
upcoming year in agriculture.
“I want to get as many FFA
members active in agriculture
as possible. My biggest personal

goal is to win state in the Agron-
omy Career Development Event

this spring,” stated Miller.
While the AgHERculture

conference was made for wom-
en, Marlow High School FFA

put together a Back to School
Bash that was open to everyone

involoved in the MHS agricul-
ture program.

The Back to School Bash
took place Monday, Aug. 28 at
the Marlow Middle School, and
allowed stuents to have fun and
build relationships with fellow
classmates
Senior Hunter Miller took
the opportunity to attend his last

Back to School Bash at MHS..
“I think the Back to School
Bash went really well. There
were a lot of friends that showed
up,” Hunter Miller exclaimed.
“It was my last bash, and it was
a good one.”
A less experienced member
of FFAthat attended the bash is
Sophomore Lillie Morningstar.
“I think the bash was great

and a lot of fun. It made me re-
ally happy to see many Marlow

FFA students get together to
have a good time and meet each
other,” commented Morningstar.
“I got to know everyone and
participated with many of my
friends at the event.”

The AgHERculture confer-
ence and the Back to School

Bash were created to lift young
students up and both of them are

doing a great job of it, motivat-
ing Marlow FFA students for the

rest of the year.
