Senior Adlee Ellsworth ran short distance for the Marlow High School track since his freshman year and began pole vaulting in his junior year.

One of Ellsworth’s biggest accomplishments in track is being awarded the Joe Dial award by his coach Bobby Wortham.

Another achievement of Ellsworth’s was receiving State Runner-up in pole vaulting earlier this year.

“Track has taught me that nothing in life is handed to you, and with enough hard work, you can beat talent,” Ellsworth expressed.

Ellsworth has learned numerous life skills from his four year experience in track.

“The skills I’ve learned from track will hopefully find my success later in life, such as finding ways to motivate myself,” Ellsworth explained, “Making my family proud motivates me to do my best on the team.”

Senior Julian Marroquin has run the 4×100 meter relay on the track team for six years and has been friends with Adlee for nine years.

“Adlee brings great energy and joy to the team by building relationships with everyone,” Marroquin informed. “He is someone everyone wants to see succeed because of his hard work and accountability.”

Senior Case Rich, also a good friend of Ellsworth, has been on the MHS track team since his seventh grade year and currently pole vaults, runs the 200 and 4×4’s.

Rich met Adlee when they were younger and have built a strong friendship over their entire lives.

“Adlee brings joy to the team- he is always in a good mood no matter the circumstances,” Rich informed. “If he didn’t want to practice that day, nobody would know.”

Ellsworth plans to study the area of business at Oklahoma University in hopes of creating a successful future ahead of him.
