Summer brings new activities to Marlow students

After the school year has ended, many students decide to participate in camps over the summer and sometimes obtain a job.

Jobs and summer camps allow students to connect with others and learn skills that can be used in the future.

Over thirty percent of high school students start a job during the summer and fifteen percent of kids go to summer camps, according to zippia.com.

One MHS student who will be heading to a  summer camp is freshmen Kaleb Miller who will be going to Falls Creek Baptist Conference Center and a wrestling camp.

“Camps allow me to get out of my house and connect with others while trying to better myself,” stated Miller.

One student who has already been working and will continue to throughout the summer is freshman Kallie Waller.

Waller started her job at Braum’s seven months ago to gain more responsibility and patience.

“I started a job to start learning skills that I will need in the future as an adult,” stated Waller.

Whether a student works a job over the summer or goes to a camp, both options are beneficial to students.
