Ramsey dashes toward success
Member of the cross country team since seventh grade, senior Braxton Ramsey has improved Braxton brings leadership to the cross country team,” stated Aguilar. “He brings a lot of fun, various aspects of his life through his participation in the sport.
As a senior, Ramsey leads the team with the goal of demonstrating a positive example to the younger members.
Fellow senior and cross country runner Daniel Aguilar has known Ramsey since fourth grade.
“ people up, helps the freshmen out and he just makes it a good time for everyone.”
While Ramsey primarily focuses on cross country, he also participates in swim and track.
His devotion to his activities can be seen both in competitions and at practice.
“I have learned that I need to push myself in order to get better,” Ramsey expressed. “I will use the perseverance I have acquired through cross country in my future.”
Ramsey’s athleticism is not the only part of his life that he has worked to improve.
With their friendship beginning in the same hospital after birth, senior Dason Davis has spent his whole life alongside Ramsey.
“Braxton used to have little confidence, but now he is more confident because he worked on himself,” explained Davis. “Our friendship means everything to me; we’re best friends, and he’s my favorite person in the world. I love him to death.”
The cross country season is still ongoing, and Ramsey’s passion and abilities for cross country is anticipated to grow as the team takes on regionals and state in the coming weeks.
Once the cross country season comes to an end, Ramsey plans to also take his dedication into the swim and track seasons.
After graduation, Ramsey aspires to attend Northeastern State University to become an optometrist and continue to serve others.
