Brittian has a passion for softball

Swinging her way through senior year, Jori Brittain has motivated and inspired her teammates throughout her time on the MHS softball team.

Brittain has been interested in softball since playing tee-ball when she was four years old, and has since been an active member of the Marlow softball program for six years where she has acquired some of her biggest accomplishments and lifelong friends.

“My biggest accomplishment in softball is simply learning how to handle situations and learn life lessons through the sport,” Brittain said. “I enjoy winning and making friendships with players throughout the teams I have played on. I met my best friend by playing on the same travel team together.”

Brittain has traveled all around the state and out of state  on travel teams for softball, when Marlow softball is not active.

Throughout her four years on the Marlow High School softball team, Brittain has become a crucial member and aspect of the team.

Close friend and fellow softball player, junior Whitney Wade and Brittain have played together at Marlow for six years.

“Jori is a great motivator that makes the whole team want to follow,” Wade explained. “She is loud in the dugout, at practice and on the field and does what needs to be done behind closed doors. She communicates what needs to be done in a positive and encouraging way.”

Having seen her motivate others on the team, Marlow High School softball Head Coach Brian Miller explained how Brittain has grown through the sport.

“Jori has a passion for always working hard and doing the right thing no matter who is watching,” Miller described. “She has put in countless hours improving each year to be one of our best players.”

Carrying her passion for helping and motivating others into the future, Brittain plans to attend college and get a degree in the medical field.
