With spring break just around the corner, Marlow High School students are busy preparing for the week-long break by planning out their days off school.

Throughout the week of March 16-20, students have big plans for their time off while still involving themselves in their school activities.

With the MHS Band students traveling to Orlando, Florida, and the MHS Baseball team traveling to Broken Bow, Oklahoma, many students will spend their time away from Marlow.

Freshman Irulan Nicholson spoke about the band’s trip to Orlando, a trip that includes visiting Disney World, Universal Studios and Cocoa Beach.

“I get to travel with the band to Florida,” explained Nicholson. “We get to perform, and we will be considered cast members.  I’m super excited for Disney World.”

With a twenty-four hour bus ride to Orlando and back, the attending students have a long journey ahead of them.

However, not all students are traveling out of state this spring break.

A little closer to home, the MHS Baseball team will be competing in the Broken Bow Tournament Mar. 16-18.

Not only will they be representing Marlow and shining a positive light on competitive athletics but they will also be growing closer as a team by spending the week of Mar. 15-18 in a cabin together.

Senior Peyton Ladon expressed his excitement for the tournament.

“I’m preparing myself mentally and physically. I’m getting ready to go win games and have a good time with my boys,” said Ladon. “I’m most excited about us coming together as one. In the past couple years, this trip has brought us together like no other. We have a lot of fun together.”

With a big season ahead of them, the team has a lot to learn about one another in order to perform better on the field.

However, the baseball team is not the only MHS sports organization traveling to play over the break.

Senior Allison Riddle explained how she will spend her time with her team in preparation for the upcoming golf season.

“I am going to play golf at Lake Murray with my golf team and continue to golf all week,” said Riddle.

With everyone ecstatic for their days off school, MHS is buzzing with excitement regarding the long-awaited warmer weather.
