With years of experience under his belt, senior Taggart Allen holds the title of a wide receiver on the Marlow High School varsity football team.

Having grown up playing the competitive sport, Allen has learned valuable lessons along the way that he will continue applying throughout his life.

From the hours spent practicing alongside his teammates to having the community watching his every move each Friday night during football season, the job of a football player is not an easy one.

Despite the difficulties, Allen is known for his dedication to the sport and problem solving skills on the field.

When asked how being a member of the football team has benefitted him, Allen stated that he has learned how to face adversity.

Allen continued with his favorite aspect of being involved in football.

“Being around my teammates is why I love football,” said Allen. “It has made me a better person by all the life lessons it taught me.”

Senior Kasen Smith, Allen’s close friend since seventh grade, spoke about the morals Allen has gained through his experience as a member of the Marlow High School football team.

“I think Tag has learned that you don’t get things handed to you – that you have to work hard for things in life,” said Smith. “I also think Tag has learned to become a leader through football.”

Smith also acknowledged Allen’s intelligence, stating that his good grades will benefit him in his future achievements.

In company with his brilliance, Allen’s friend and fellow senior Lindley Newberry expressed the qualities Allen possesses that will aid in his success throughout his future.

“Tag is dedicated to anything he does. He faces his obstacles head on and does whatever it takes to achieve what he wants!” stated Newberry.

With his friends supporting him each step along the way, Allen is committed and planning on attending Northern Oklahoma College in Enid on a baseball scholarship in the fall.

Until then, Allen will continue dedicating himself to his hobbies and inspiring others with each obstacle he encounters, whether it be on the football field or off.
