Marlow High School Student Council powers up as the organization sets new aspirations with senior President Malachi Eveland.
“The daily goals of Student Council are to positively affect the lives of students at the school and speak up for the student body,” said Eveland. “Some of our yearly goals include having a successful M.O.R.O.T.O week and Haunted House.”
Possessing strong leadership qualities that he has utilized as President, Eveland has motivated and inspired many of his peers and underclassmen to carry out the goals of the council, one being sophomore Case Rich.
“Malachi is a big reason I rejoined Student Council. He keeps me motivated to do my job as a council member,” said Rich. “Malachi is the type of leader that most people look up to because he has a one-of-a-kind personality and he’s an ultimate dream chaser.”
Senior Chloe Brooks also speaks highly of the abilities Eveland has to lead.
“Malachi is a friend to anybody that needs a friend,” Brooks said. “He is very responsible with his actions and what he is supposed to do as President and a leader.”
Student Council advisor Ann Field also delights in Eveland’s tenacity and respectability in his methods for leading the organization to new heights.
“Malachi is respected by the members of the council, which is extremely important in leading effectively,” said Field.
Having been involved in StuCo for two years, Eveland has gathered strong communicative, social, and presentational skills from attending Basic and Advanced leadership workshops, and, most recently, representing Marlow High School at Lions Club.
These opportunities have helped him prepare for his hopeful admittance to Oklahoma State University with intentions on double majoring in finance and statistics.
Until then, Eveland will continue to push MHS students to reach their full potential and help StuCo strive to reach newfound abilities and prestige.
