Lady Outlaws start off the season strong

With softball season in full swing, the Marlow High School Lady Outlaws are making this season their own with a 5-1 record.

The Lady Outlaws have started the season off strong and have put in hard-work in order to succeed.

Junior Jayleigh Totten has taken notice of the team’s unity and work-ethic being the keys to their wins.
“The season has been great so far,” Totten says. “We have learned that we need to go into every game as a team and to trust one another, and we’ve also gained more players that are a huge part of our success.”

After losing one senior last season the Outlaws’ were quick to bounce back, even with several new names being added to the team roster.

Senior Devyn Dennison is one of the new players in the starting line-up, and has recognized that the hard-work each player puts into every play and hit determines how they move forward.

“We all have the will to succeed and the dedication to be a great team,” Dennison describes. “We take every practice and game seriously and we know we must stay committed in order to go to the state tournament.”

With a prosperous season already being laid out, the Lady Outlaws’ anticipate a great rest of the season.

Head Coach Brian Miller hopes that the team’s success and will to work hard will lead them to dominance at the state tournament.

“We have great senior leadership and are all considered one team; no upper or lower classmen,” Miller says. “We hope to make it to the state tournament, but also enjoy the experience of growing closer together as a team.”

The Outlaws’ will be on base once again this Thursday, August 23rd in Comanche at 5:00 p.m.
