The MHS Fellowship of Christian Athletes attended the Courts of Praise on Monday, Feb. 26.
The event, hosted by the Comanche Indians, invited a select few FCA leaders from MHS to attend the event.
One person who plays a major role in FCA is Julie McCauley, who works as the advisor for the MHS program.
McCauley enjoys the opportunity to connect with her students.
“The relationships are one of the main reasons I like FCA, getting to form relationships with students, athletes, and other coaches that I would not have a chance to otherwise,” said McCauley. “Ultimately it has allowed me to build genuine relationships, helped me deepen my faith, and encouraged me to make a positive impact on others.”
One of the students who is led by McCauley is senior Kenlee Wilson.
“The event was very powerful. It ran very smoothly and was well organized,” said Wilson.
Wilson likes all parts of FCA, but has one thing that she favors most.
“My favorite part about FCA is having the opportunity to surround myself with other student athletes who all share the same goal, spreading the gospel,” said Wilson.
Along with Wilson, Senior Lauren Ivory is also an invoked member of FCA.
“My favorite thing about FCA is the impact it can have on the community,” said Ivory.
FCA has helped Ivory in many ways.
“Being in FCA has helped me boldly speak about the good news of Jesus and taught me how beneficial it can be to step out of my comfort zone,” said Ivory.
The FCA program at MHS will continue allowing students to grow in their faith together as a family.
