Every time senior Alisha
Lemons steps onto the track
she brings her very best and
contributes to the success of
the MHS track team.
Lemons feels that her time
on Marlow’s track team has
been very beneficial to her
personal growth.
“Even though I hate run-
ning, I believe God put me
in this sport not just for my
ability but because he knew I
needed the girls and coaches
in my life for something big-
ger,” said Lemons.
Many people have moti-
vated Lemons in her track
career.
“The coaches are my big-
gest supporters. They are so
genuine and helpful with any-
thing, even outside track,”
said Lemons.
Girls track coach Tammy
Miller is one of the coaches
who motivates Lemons and
who has had the opportunity
to witness Lemons’s charac-
ter over the years.
“Alisha is always will-
ing to run whatever I ask her
to run. She is a joy to coach
because of her coachability,”
said Miller.
Alongside her willingness
to work, Miller sees Lemons
inspiring her teammates on a
daily basis.
“Alisha encourages her
teammates to give it their best
by setting an example in prac-
tice and meets,” said Miller.
One teammate who has
benefited from Lemons’s pos-
itivity is junior Brileigh Soell.
“I think Alisha’s best trait
is how funny she is. She can
always make me laugh when
I’m upset or I feel like I did
not do good enough,” said
Soell. “Alisha has positively
affected me in so many ways.
She always makes my day
brighter, and I look forward
to seeing her everyday.”
After Lemons graduates,
she plans to attend the Uni-
versity of Central Oklahoma
to major in forensic psychol-
ogy.
