The MHS Bootleggers
attended the annual Pom
State Game Day on Friday,
Nov. 10, the girls competing
against many teams all across
the state.
Out of the fifteen teams in
attendance, the Bootleggers
placed seventh with a score
of 600.
The Bootleggers typically
do not participate in regionals and State Game Day, but
their new head coach, Tristyn
Ivory, decided it would be
good to step outside of their
comfort zone and try something new.
Ivory is very happy with
how the girls performed, especially against their tough
5A competition.
“The girls did amazing.
This was their first time competing at this event, so we
were not sure what to expect,”
said Ivory. “They surpassed
all of our goals we had for our
first time competing at Pom
State.”
Senior Demi Hunt has been
a part of the Marlow Outlaws
Bootleggers for four years,
and she was very proud of the
team and all their hard work.
“Our team did pretty well,
we were all super loud and
did our best,” stated Hunt. “
I am super proud of all the
teams.”
Senior Alisha Lemons has
also been a part of the Marlow
Outlaws Bootleggers for four
years, and she enjoyed the anticipation of a new competition
“Before the music starts, I
always am telling myself that
I can do this and to turn my
nerves into adrenaline,” said
Lemons
The Bootleggers will continue to show Outlaw pride as
they prepare for the kick state
competition, which will occur
on Dec. 3rd.
