As the fall sports season
is coming to an end, Mar-
low’s fall sports teams are
beginning to attend their fi-
nal events of the school year,
one of those teams being the
Marlow High School Cross
Country team.
The girls and boys teams
traveled to Waurika for the
Oklahoma 3A Regional Meet
on Saturday, Oct. 22.
For the boys team, junior
Michael Weston and senior
Kade Sullivan qualified for
the Class 3A State Tourna-
ment, and they both earned
All-Regional.
Unfortunately, the boys
team placed eighth overall
and were not qualified for
state.
The Lady Outlaws placed
sixth overall, making it to state,
with senior Skylar Ramsey be-
ing awarded All-Regional.
Of the athletes that ran for the boys team, one that stood out
is junior Michael Weston .
Weston has participated in cross country since eighth grade.
Weston has some deep thoughts on how the season went as
a whole for himself.
“I have finally started doing as good as I have always known
that I could,” shared Weston.
“I ran really well and got 5th place,” said Weston.
Though Weston has years of experience on the team, newer
team members also competed at regionals..
Freshman Caleb Davis ran at the meet for the MHS boys
team and exceeded his own
expectations.
“I ran the best I have this
whole year,” stated Davis. “I
think our team all ran as good
as they could and gave it their
all.”
Though his time running
cross country is over for the
year, Davis feels inspired for
future years on the team.
“I feel like we are all moti-
vated to make it to state next
year and always run the best
we can,” shared Davis.
Sophomore Katelyn Reyn-
olds ran for the Lady Outlaws
on Saturday, and she thinks
that she did pretty well.
“I think that I ran one of
the best races of my life, and I
think the team did absolutely
amazing,” said Reynolds.
“They all ran their best.”
One teacher who is in-
volved with both teams is
Marlow Cross Country Coach
Dr. Matt Ivory.
Ivory is impressed by the cross country team for their effort
this year.
“I am extremely proud of each member of this team and
how hard they have worked this year,” commented Ivory.
The Class 3A State Tournament will be held at Edmond
Santa Fe High School on Saturday Oct. 28.
