Senior Cade Gilbert has
aided Marlow athletics as a
star athlete, being awarded
a variety of achievements
throughout his time, includ-
ing an overall Grade Point
Average of 4.0.
With the wide array of
achievements he has received,
Gilbert has consistently
proved that student athletes
can have good performance
on the field while still putting
high priority on classes.
“I have grown as an athlete
through my faith and aca-
demically by making sure my
academics stay above my ath-
letics,” Gilbert said.
Gilbert participates in three
sports through Marlow’s ath-
letic department, but he is
currently in the middle of his
last football season.
He is currently a quar-
terback and kicker for the
team, and during past years
involved, the team has made
playoffs and even won a state
championship.
This year, Gilbert has aid-
ed the team in reaching a win-
ning record of 7-1.
His fellow teammates have
seen his work ethic, including
senior Lawson Knox who has
seen Gilbert’s effort and char-
acter on the field.
“Cade has impacted me as
a friend by putting his friends
above himself and always
being willing to help,” Knox
expressed. “I think his best
quality is leadership.”
Gilbert’s positive qualities
have impacted teammates
and classmates alike, seven
year friend and fellow senior
Bradley McClure noticing the
effects.
“He is a good friend and
has been there for me through
many tough times,” McClure
said. “He works hard and is
dedicated to everything he
does.”
Though he has yet to
choose a major or university,
Gilbert plans to take his wide
array of talents to further his
education.
