Senior Cody Weber has
been playing football for six
years, currently playing first
string wide receiver on of-
fense and second string cor-
ner on defense for the Marlow
Outlaws.
Weber has held these po-
sitions for five years and has
continued to work on becom-
ing a better football player
and overall athlete.
Since starting to become
more serious on working out
at the weight room, Weber
has gained more confidence
in himself.
Weber put his hard work
into play as he made his sec-
ond week appearance against
the Comanche Indians game
on Sept.8.
“I caught four passes and
ran for I don’t know how
many yards,” said Weber.
Weber is not the only one
watching his impact on the
field, high school assistant
coach Brock Harris also notes
what Weber’s athleticism
adds to the field.
“Cody adds a variety of
things to the team, but the one
that stands out the most is his
speed. Cody is by far the fast-
est player on our team,” ex-
claimed Harris.
Weber takes pride in what
he adds to the game on Friday
nights, but he also takes pride
in the special bonds he has
made with coaches and team-
mates.
“My favorite part is the
camaraderie, getting closer
to my teammates,” declared
Weber.
Harris has also taken note
of the leadership that Weber
shows on and off the field.
“As a young coach getting
into my first few years of the
profession, Cody has been
an ideal student and athlete
to work with. He has set the
standard due to his incredible
work ethic and drive to suc-
ceed,” said Harris.
As teammates and friends
to Weber, Seniors Logan
Woods and Cooper Redway
have seen Weber’s best quali-
ties first hand for many years.
“He has made me more ef-
fective and efficient,” Woods
said. “His humor is one of my
favorite things about Cody.”
Redway believes that
though Weber has always
made an impact, he has gone
through major changes as a
person.
“He can change some-
one’s mood in a heart-
beat. He has become
more mature over the
years and has improved
a tremendous amount
as a person since I have
met him,” stated Redway
Following graduation, We-
ber plans to attend college and
pursue a major in pharmacy.
