Senior Marlow Latimer has been a Marlow Outlaw her entire life.
Throughout Latimer’s years at Marlow, her academics have become her main priority.
Latimer stated, “Academics are very important to me because they open up opportunities that I would not have if I had less substantial grades.”
Latimer’s grades from freshman year to senior year have led her to have a steady 4.0 GPA, and she has also been in the top ten percent of her class for the past four years.
During her academic achievements, Latimer’s parents have had a tremendous impact on her journey to success.
“My parents are the ones who have pushed me to become successful in my academics,” Latimer expressed. “They have always taught me from a young age that nothing good in life is handed to you, so you have to simply earn it yourself.”
While keeping her grades up, Latimer has inspired many of her fellow Marlow High School students.
For example, fellow senior and friend, Katie Ellsworth has known her for her entire life and has been deeply impacted by Latimer.
“Marlow has inspired me by encouraging me to be a leader in different activities I’m a part of,” Ellsworth stated. “She has always pushed me to get out of my comfort zone and encouraged me to never give up.”
Another friend is freshman Kory Scott, who has known Latimer for six years and has seen her abilities in many situations.
“Marlow is a very hard worker,” Scott said. “She is my Spanish teacher’s tap student, and she is always willing to do anything that is helpful and is just always offering a hand.”
Latimer plans to bring her hard work ethic to The University of Oklahoma for a four year bachelor degree, earning a major in biomedical engineering.
After college graduation, she plans to attend medical school to become a licensed orthopedic surgeon.
