Outlaws hit regionals out of the park

On Thursday, May 5 the Marlow High School baseball team hosted the 4A Regionals Baseball Tournament.

The Regionals Tournament was a three-day event which decided which teams would be advancing to the State game.

The teams have to play in an eighteen district tournament and depending on how the teams play they get matched up with a team from a different district; then the top four teams get to go play at Regionals.

The Marlow Outlaw baseball team had their first game against Chickasha with a winning score of 13-0.

Senior Kole Seeley has played baseball for fifteen years and is the center fielder and pitcher for the varsity team.

“We prepared for Regionals by going up on Sunday and Wednesday nights after practice to get a little extra work and practice time in,” Seeley explained.

On the second day of Regionals, Friday, May 6, the Outlaws played their second game against the Newcastle Racers varsity team and won again with a final score of 11-4.

Senior Brennan Morgan has been playing baseball for fourteen years and is the pitcher and third baseman for the Marlow High School baseball team.

“Regionals was fun and I am really glad we won but now it is time to start preparing for the state competition,” Morgan expressed.

On the third and final day of Regionals, Saturday, May 7, the Marlow Outlaws played their final game against the Newcastle Racers once more.

The Marlow Outlaw High School team won their last game against the Newcastle Racers Varsity team with a final winning score of 8-1.

John Morgan has been the coach for the Marlow Outlaw baseball team for seven years and has helped the team grow throughout the season.

“I think the team played really well,” Morgan conveyed. “They played really good defense and offense and when you put those together it is really tough to beat us.”

The team will face Lincoln Christian in the first round of the 4A State tournament on May 12 in Shawnee.
