Recognizable at each football game by her smile and energy, senior LeeAnne Riddle is a notable member of the Marlow High School Bootleggers.

Having been involved in the organization all four years of high school, Riddle has created a name for herself as a dancer, leader and friend through her participation.

Working closely with the Bootleggers by providing leadership and feedback on their performances is Bootlegger Coach Leesha Crowson.

When asked what she believes Riddle has gained from Bootlegger, Crowson mentioned Riddle’s strong ability to work alongside her team and her ability to power through hardships.

“I think LeeAnne has learned to push through adversity during her dance years,” stated Crowson. “Sometimes injuries have bothered her, but she has pushed through for herself and for the team. LeeAnne is competitive, and she pushes herself and her teammates to get better.”

With Crowson coaching the team to be better in every aspect of their lives, Riddle has taken the opportunity as a Bootlegger to impact others on a worldly scale.

Making a difference in her hometown and places around the world, Riddle spoke about what she has learned throughout her involvement in Bootlegger.

“Bootlegger has taught me that good can be brought into the world even with simple actions,” said Riddle. “Bootlegger helps me connect with multiple people in the outside world. These relationships are important as well as connecting with people in the community. Bootlegger grows my social skills, ability to make and keep friends and being able to have the opportunity to be a role model for younger generations.”

With a sisterhood of girls dancing alongside her, Riddle has developed many friendships through hours of practice and the irreplaceable memories made with one another.

Friend and fellow Bootlegger, senior Shiloh Sullivent expressed her thankfulness regarding her friendship with Riddle.

“My friendship with LeeAnne is the best kind of friendship to have,” explained Sullivent. “We are honest with each other, and we lift each other up through words of encouragement and many hugs.”

With plans to attend the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma and major in English, Riddle aspires to become an English teacher, a coach and a youth ministry volunteer.
