Outlaws express thankfulness

During this Thanksgiving season, the Marlow High School students were asked what they are most thankful for.

For many, it is their supportive friends and families that foster gratefulness.

Students like sophomore Payton Maddox expressed his gratitude towards his loved ones.

“I am so grateful for the people who care and love for me,” said Maddox. “I am thankful for all the opportunities that I get to have in life now.”

For others, it is the encouraging environment the faculty at MHS create each year.

Junior Aubrey Topping is especially energized by the school’s staff and conveyed her appreciation.

“I’m thankful for the teachers at school for teaching me the things I need to know to get into colleges and such,” Topping said. “They have taught me such great life lessons for after high school and the communication skills needed to succeed in my future.”

One particular student, senior James Shirley, is not only thankful for his teachers but also for the activities the school offers.

“I am most thankful for being able to be on the speech team,” Shirley said. “Being able to speak in front of others is an ability that not many can do, and I get the joy of partaking in it.”

In the midst of the holiday season, Marlow Public Schools will receive a week long Thanksgiving break that runs from Monday, Nov. 25, to Friday, Nov. 29, where students can further celebrate with their families and loved ones.

Students will return to school on Monday, Dec. 2.
