The U.S. Presidential election was concluded on November 8 and the American people have chosen Donald J. Trump to become the 45th president of the United States.
Trump claimed victory Tuesday night when he achieved the impossible by winning all key swing states excluding Colorado.
Swing states are states that do not majorly align themselves to any specific party, which makes it competitive for both parties to gain more votes from both sides.
He even claimed victory in the widely-Democratic state of Wisconsin, where according to the Wisconsin State Journal, a Republican has not claimed victory in since the 1984 election.
Before election night, many polls and political analysts estimated on an almost unanimous Clinton victory, putting Trump’s chances of winning under five percent.
Let me just say that Trump’s “silent majority” made their voices be heard Tuesday with overwhelming attendance that shattered the overall predictions of a Clinton presidency.
I must add that I was awfully skeptical from the beginning of the general election that Clinton would maintain support within the Democratic Party and the independent voter base.
I would have to say that this all began when Democratic National Committee chairman, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, launched a secret smear campaign against candidate Bernie Sanders that seemed to be pro-Clinton and ironically un-democratic.
However, this all blew up in the faces of top DNC officials when their deception became uncovered by WikiLeaks; the nonprofit organization that obtained emails that detail their plan to make it easier for Clinton to the nomination.
According to RT America, Schultz tried to put Sanders’ faith into question by stating, “My Southern Baptist peeps would draw a big difference between a Jew and an Atheist”.
Although his faith seemed to be questionable during the primaries, this should not have been an issue in the first place, especially if it is put forth by an entity that is supposed to be politically neutral towards their candidates.
I feel that this, along with Clinton’s email scandal really plotted her overall demise.
Unlike Trump, Clinton’s campaign had no real message to base the mechanics of her administration on.
Trump campaigned with the message to “Make America Great Again” which summed up his policies and decisions into one slogan.
Even though his rhetoric is frightening and comparable to many dictators that have lived before him, I do give him credit for knowing how to manipulate the media that he hated so much.
However, because of his comments on many issues, there have been many protesters that have rioted in the streets of many American cities this past week that are labeling his presidency as illegitimate.
These Americans feel that Trump’s misogynist, racist and wrongful actions disqualify him from holding the highest office in the land.
Although I have to admit they are right on this thought, I do agree that the nation must give him a chance to redeem himself and let him prove that he is a leader for all Americans.
If the American citizens do not do this, this country will become further divided.
