How long would Earth provide oil?
Scientists figured out that the Earth would produce oil for another fifty-five years, and natural gas for fifty-six years, which is not that far away.
Both resources are used in our everyday lives, including car oils, erasers, shoes, and more.
However due to indiscreet usage of such resources, we are facing shortage and harsh consequences caused by it.
National Aeronautics and Space Administration, also known as NASA, presented that the amount of glacier at the North Pole has reached the lowest this year and would cause serious impact on the climate around the world.
So what can we do to save the Earth from getting damaged so much?
Start recycling! Use plastic bags again, and support eco-friendly companies by buying products made from recycled materials.
Trashes that are not recycled can have a tremendous impact on the environment. A single plastic container takes more than hundred years for it to decompose. Trashes that are not recycled floats around the water, looking like food to a lot of birds and fishes. They eat the trashes and die painfully as a result.
Saving energy is also important to protecting the environment. Plug the cords when not using. Also heat the house a little less and wear warm clothes during wintertime.
What about participating on a national Lights Off Event called the ‘Earth Hour’? It is an annual global celebration where people switch off their lights for one hour to show they care about the future of our planet. More than 172 countries and territories participate in it, and it can save tremendous amount of energy when it is done. Earth Hour 2017 is at 8:30 PM through 9:30 PM, so turn your lights off for just one hour and save the Earth!
It may sound like a lot of work, but I believe that for ourselves and our descendants who would come in the future, we should start protecting the Earth now, from this very moment. Your small action can help saving the Earth. So get ready and let’s save the Earth together!
