Bulgogi is a traditional Korean food known by foreigners as Kimchi, which is also a traditional Korea food. Bulgogi is a dish that usually consists of grilled marinated beef. Here is a recipe on how to make a Bulgogi!
Ingredients:
Main: 11 oz of sliced beef sirloin, ½ Onion, 1 green onion, mushroom (optional), carrot (optional), glass noodles (optional)
For Marinade: 8 spoons of soy sauce, 4 spoons of sugar (depends on individual), 1 spoon of grinded garlic, 1 spoon of sesame oil, a little bit of pepper, 1 cup of water
The ratio of soy sauce : sugar = 2 : 1 for average sweetness. Control the amount of sugar as desired.
Directions:
Make the marinade first in a big separate bowl. If it is salty and sweet when tasted it is going the right way. The saltiness and the sweetness can be adjusted a little depending on your taste.
Put the beef sirloin in the sauce and marinate it. It is recommended to put saran wrap over it or to put it in a container, and leave it for at least 4 hours. It tastes better when it is marinated over a day.
Cut the vegetables. Peel and slice ½ onion. Wash and cut a green onion into 2 inch pieces.
Remove the meat from the marinade and shake off the drippings. Cook the meat in a dented pan and fry it at medium temperature. It is important to put half a cup of water in this step to make the soup taste better.
Once the Bulgogi starts turning brown, put the vegetables in and fry it. You can put the green onions last for color, but it does not matter whether you put the vegetables all in once. Make sure not to put too much mushrooms because it will produce too much liquid.
When the onions start turning translucent, it is almost ready. Taste it to make sure. Control the saltiness and sweetness with salt and sugar.
Once the taste of it is regulated, it is ready to serve. Serve on a plate and sprinkle sesame seeds as a garnish (optional). Bulgogi is usually served with cooked rice. You can also make “Ssam” (wrap in Korean leaf lettuce) when you eat.
