Seniors take the role of leadership

Junior Gage Jones explained that although they are happy with the accomplishments they have made so far, the team still has bigger goals in mind.

“I feel like we’ve definitely made some headway, but we are far from our ultimate goal,” Jones explained. “We still have a long season ahead of us and plenty of time to prepare to play for the title.”

Sophomore Brock Harris commented on the team working together as a whole although they are a young team.

“We are really young, but it feels good to have success after working so hard together,” Harris explained. “After playing together more the team has good chemistry, and we play as a whole, not as individuals.”

The team agreed that their goal was to play in the State tournament just like last year.

Under classman on the team commented about the great leadership they have.

“Blaine and Austin are really hard workers, and I look up to them for that,” sophomore Ryan Ridge said. “Braeden and Easton are very positive, and Jackson is very encouraging. They’re great leaders for the rest of us.”

Freshmen Lucas Martinez and Cameron Freeman agreed with Ridge.

“They always have very positive attitudes and are very uplifting,” Martinez said. “They’re always very encouraging and push us to get better every practice.”

“They’re possibly the most positive people I’ve ever met,” Freeman explained. “I think positivity is what makes them great leaders.”

The boys all agreed that they have grown close as a team. Sophomore Dawson Huddleston explained how the team being close will help them in the end.

“We just have to keep working as a team and keep getting better every day,” Huddleston explained. “I think that is what will help take us to state.”

Sophomore Will Coffman agreed that being closer as a team is what could make the team very successful. Coffman also mentioned that they are not just a team but a family.

“We are a team to the public but also a family on and off the court. We look out for each other and nothing anybody says can separate us,” Coffman explained. “We are all brothers, and if we stay this way and grow together, the sky is the limit for our team!”

Senior Jackson White also explained that the team has grown close over the season.

“I feel like our team has grown a lot closer together,” White said. “We have worked with each other and pushed each other to work hard and get better so that we are be the best we can be.”

The boys are looking forward to making Marlow proud and representing the Outlaws in the best way they can.
