Hays man of many faces
We all see him on the sidelines every Friday night at the Marlow Outlaw football games as Boone, but who is this man behind the mask?
Senior Mitchell Hays is used to hiding behind more masks than just the face our lovable Boone.
“I love being able to suit up as Boone, but there’s more to me than just the chaps and cowboy hat,” Hays said.
He is also co-captain and four-year member of the Marlow Outlaw speech team and has played a role in the school’s annual drama production for two years.
Hays says that his favorite role was getting to play Randolph, a wannabe mobster, in this year’s production of “Exit the Body.”
“It forced me to step outside my comfort zone, and my main focus was to try and take on the role of Al Capone.”
Hays has also qualified for state with his original oratory and monologue pieces, but one of his favorite aspects of MOST is getting to work with the Drama I students.
“He has helped me at contests to prepare my speeches and to calm me down when I am nervous. He is so helpful and encouraging,” freshman student Morgan Smith said.
He carries his kindness and encouragement not only on the stage and on the sidelines, but also throughout the halls of MHS.
“He is always so happy and always has a smile on his face. You can always count on Mitchell to put you in a better mood,” freshman Jordyn Eggers said.
The son of Mark and Kimi Hays, Mitchell represented Marlow at Lion’s Club last week.
