Hack is talented writer
Vice-president of her class for the past four years, this week’s Student of the Week, Tori Hack, holds many more leadership roles.
Not only is she president of Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), but she is also FCCLA Southwest District Four president.
“I predict that Tori will be the perfect first female president of the United States.” FCCLA adviser, Shelly Mowry said.
In addition to her leadership responsibilities, Hack participates in drama and has been in the school play for three years. She is an asset to the program, according to drama teacher, Paula McConnell.
“Tori is very kind, caring and calm. She’s an incredible leader on the Marlow Outlaw Speech Team (MOST),” McConnell said.
Hack will play the lead role in the upcoming advanced drama play, “Exit the Body.”
“She’s very poised and a great speaker! She’s a lot of fun to listen to. The Marlow community better prepare themselves for her performance,” McConnell added.
Hack’s artistic endeavors extend beyond the stage as she has attended the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain State Park in Lone Wolf, OK for the past two years.
“I did not write poetry before I went there. Now that’s all I write,” Hack says. “At the institute, you’re surrounded by artists that understand the passion behind your art, even though you’re from different disciplines.”
After graduation, Hack plans to continue to study writing at the College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, MO, and major in journalism.
With her degree, Hack plans to start her own publishing company and publish either fashion or entertainment magazines. She already has experience in journalism as a member of the MHS exPRESS for the past three years. She is this year’s editor-in-chief.
“Marlow High School doesn’t really have a creative writing class, so I took journalism instead and I ended up loving it!” Hack said. “Now, that’s what I want to do with my future.”
Hack is the daughter of Jeff and Christie Hack.
